When you are first getting to the off road adventure fun it can be a bit intimidating. Well fear not, we have a few off road trails for beginners in Texas that will have you filled with enthusiasm. It is all about practice so take it at your own pace, and remember to enjoy the scenery, the ride, and the company. Here are our top off road trails in Texas for beginners.

Paint Gap Road

The Paint Gap Road is one of the most ideal trails for off road beginners. While taking a ride through this amazing national park you will have the opportunity to see animals of all varieties. The trail is around 12.23km and generally averages around 2 to 3 hours to complete. This awesome off road trail in Texas is located near the Big Bend National Park. At the end of the trail you will find the ruins of an abandoned homestead, which is quite an interesting find and experience.

Old Maverick OHV Route

Another great off-road trail for beginners is the Old Maverick OHV Route that happens to be quite close to Big Bend National Park as well. The trail is about 20.28 km and would take you approximately 4 hours to complete the journey. The trail is open all year so you can go in any season that suits you. Most of all though this is for people who really enjoy a good scenic drive in nature with little off-road action. Making it ideal for first timers.

Malaquite Beach Walk

Malaquite Beach Walk is one the shortest routes but it is a fun off road trail. The trail is located just outside of Corpus Christi in Texas and is just 7.4 km long. It will take less than 2 hours to complete in one go. We would recommend taking some time to enjoy the stops and take your dog with you if you have a furry companion. The trail is open year round so you can take in the views in less busy times of the year. This trail is ideal for someone first starting off and wants to do a little hiking in between.

Camp Mabey Northern OHV Route

The Camp Mabey Northern OHV Route is a loop trail located near Gilmer in Texas. The trail is considered easy and a great place for newbies, but not quite first timers, who can really sink in their teeth. The trail is 11.91 km and takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete. So if you are looking to have a fantastic weekend adventure and find yourself in the area, do check out Camp Mabey.

What to Pack for your Road Trip

Now before we jump into the items I would just like to say that this list is a general essentials list and does not take into account specific road trip traveling conditions. Be sure to research your travel route and destination carefully to make any adjustments specific to your road trip.

A few fun items to include in your road trip packing list could be things like car games, books, backyard sports equipment/sets, and music/playlists. Also keep in mind that you will need personal items such as toiletries, refuse bags, chargers/batteries, wifi hotspot, snacks, and reusable water bottles. Keep safe out on the road.

Your Car is Out of Warranty, What to Do Next?

Perhaps you are preparing to go off on a road trip soon but you are now out of your factory warranty and have not got coverage in the event of a mechanical breakdown. Well Chaiz’s online platform has all the information you need to compare, review, and choose the breakdown protection plan best suited to your needs and budget.

Once your car’s original factory warranty has come to an end or you are driving a previously owned vehicle that did not come with a warranty in place, you will have the option of seeking an extended car warranty from the car’s manufacturer. There is also another option, that is a vehicle service contract.

The vehicle service contracts found on Chaiz are offered by third-party warranty providers. The plans are available under three tiers namely powertrain, powertrain plus, and the most comprehensive. Many providers offer additional coverage options for commercial use, rideshare, and lift kits to tailor the plan to your requirements. Many of these plans also come with additional benefits like roadside assistance, accommodation in the event that you break down 100 miles or more away from home, tire changing services, and fuel delivery services.

Here at Chaiz, we offer you the chance to comfortably search for a warranty that is perfect for your model car and mileage usage. Plus, you will find a warranty fit for your budget rather than trying to fit it into your budget.
