How to file a Claim

  1. Dealership - AUL (Protective Asset Protection) encourages you to return to the issuing dealership at which you purchased your service contract however, you may take the vehicle to any licensed repair facility unless your contract requires you to return to the issuing dealership for repairs.
  2. Claims Description – Provide the dealership with your service contract number and have them phone (888)-285-2567.
  3. Cost Allocation – Repairs only begin after authorization. The dealership will send the cost estimate to AUL (Protective) who will pay the dealership directly. You are responsible for the deductible and non-covered parts.
  4. Pick up your repaired car - Once the work is done, collect your car and get back on the road.

Mileage & Vehicle Age

Protective provides coverage for vehicles of up to 20 years of age and up to 150,000 miles on the odometer.

Are there waiting periods before coverage starts?

Certain plans have no waiting period, whilst others have up to a 90 day/3000 mile waiting period.

Can I take my car to any repair shop?

No, certain plans require you to return to the issuing dealership at which you purchased your service contract, others allow you to take your vehicle to any licenses ASE-repair facility although this is discouraged.

Do I have to pay any costs upfront?

No, AUL (Protective) pays the dealer or shop directly. Only thing you are responsible for is your deductible and non-covered costs.
