How to file a Claim

  1. Diagnosis - In the event of a breakdown, take your vehicle to any Tesla Service Center, or any Electrified Garage repair facility. Send the diagnostic inspection and repair estimate to Amber at claims@getamber.com.
  2. Repair Approval: In most cases, they get back to you within 24 hours with a decision on what's covered and approval to proceed with the repair.
  3. Reimbursement: Once the repair is completed, email them the final invoice. By default, they will attempt to pay the service provider so that they can minimize your out-of-pocket expenses but if they are not able to do so, they will reimburse you directly.
  4. Pick up your repaired car - Once the work is done, collect your car and get back on the road.

Coverage Limits

Mileage & Vehicle Age

AmberCare covers Tesla (non cybertruck) models 2015 and newer up to 200,000 miles.

Pre-Exisiting Conditions

Similar to insurance, vehicle service contracts only cover future mechanical issues — not pre-existing conditions. Securing coverage before problems arise ensures you're protected when it matters most.

Cancelations & Transfer a Plan

Cancelations

Customers can cancel at any time. Simply email their concierge with the request to cancel. If you cancel within the first 30 days, you will receive the greater of the full amount minus the amount of claims paid, or $0. Otherwise, you will receive a pro-rated refund.

Transfer a Plan

Customers can transfer anytime, with no transfer fee.

Are there waiting periods before coverage starts?

No, they waive the waiting period upon the results of a successful remote diagnostic inspection.

Can I take my car to any repair shop?

In the event of a breakdown, you can take your EV to any Tesla Service Center, or any Electrified Garage repair facility. In the Northeast, their mobile service team can come to you.

Do I have to pay any costs upfront?

Potentially. By default, AmberCare will attempt to pay the service provider so that they can minimize your out-of-pocket expenses but if they are not able to do so, they will reimburse you directly.

Are there mileage or age limits?
